I actually use FreeBSD and really like the "ports tree", as they call it
there - it's quite nice. I automatically get PentiumPro-optimized
binaries, for instance. Compile at night if you need to!
I've recompiled all of FreeBSD once already - both "kernel and userland" -
it's not that hard. 6 hours on my Micron PentiumPro 200 to do it. (ports
tree doesn't need recompiled when you upgrade, which is why I did it - I
upgraded from a CVS tag!)
