So here's a cute story. This weekend, when there was enough snow to
build a snowfort, my 6 year-old son build a pretty substantial one
that he declared was undefeatable. It did a good job from the
front, but mean old dad pointed out that he could just walk around
to the back and fire away with complete impunity. Milo protested
that this was cheating, you weren't supposed to go around the back,
and I then had to tell him, over hot cocoa, the story of the Maginot
Line.

He will not be fighting the last war anymore. :-)

The Subaru Impreza is not good on gas, but has all wheel drive, and
the hatchback wagon can haul impressive quantities of random stuff.
Our '93 has a fairly wimpy engine, but they now come with some
fairly impressive ones. Plus, they are (or have been) ludicrously
reliable.
