As I said, they could make it retractable for those who need ground
clearance. Just need to make it resistant to going backwards into the car,
but where it can raise and lock in a higher position when offroad. Could
even make this a mechanical feature controlled inside the vehicle. It would
be about like the 'plow' on the front of old locomotives 'sweeping the
little cars out of its way' ;-)
That brings up another thing I'd like to see, V shaped bumpers. Right now
the best you can get is a gentle curve, but a V shape is hard to hit head
on, you'd more likely ricochet off to one side. It might even help with
aerodynamic look, for those who feel their car has to look like it can go
500mph, even if it'll never drive over 60.
