Well, minivans were *never* cool, and, it must be said, the two vehicle
types really came on the market at about the same time (remember the old
Bronco II?)  SUVs didn't go "family style" until the Explorer, but that's
another issue.

And that's a bad thing?  Isnt' that kinda the point? You can pile it as
high as you like?

Again, what's the problem with this?

I do sorta get your point, but the most practical car of all time is
something like a 4-door hatchback, and those are just sooo unhip.
