I know that a few years ago, in Consumer Reports or somesuch, they wrote
that the size of the car was extremely important in determining survival
in an accident. Maybe newer cars are safer in some ways that help to
avoid accidents, and they do have airbags, but I still think I'd rather be
in a 1971 Pontiac Catalina than in a new Honda Civic when the two cars
have a head-on collision. Pretty sure, not 100%. The old Catalina
probably didn't even have a shoulder strap, just lap belts.
