Brilliant analysis!  This is the big problem with this sort of poll.
Responses are not independent and some sectors of the population are
overrepresented.  It would be good to see the answers to the question "How
did you find out about this poll?"  Of course, people might lie, so it
would be hard to rule out certain effects, but if you found that most
people said they heard about the poll by reading comp.lang.php, and that
nearly all of those people voted for php, you'd have a good reason to be
skeptical of the poll results!
