Compiling JSP to test it? I've never compiled any JSP
to test it, stick in the directory and load it up. I
guess it is compiled when you run it but so is PHP and
Perl. Actually I don't think any of our programmers
allready know Java very well, we were all hired as
mod_perl developers. I think the main reason they are
moving to Java is because we do a lot of integration
with other apps and there are allready good Java
classes to connect with them from the people who wrote
the application. We are pretty much having to write
the Perl ones from scratch everytime we run into
something new. Also they want to be able to run the
stuff on IIS (ICK!) as well as apache (the only thing
we support at the moment).
