At least we're not arguing over which one is better. I've seen that be the
death of an IRC chan. Of course, after Voyager and Enterprise (I finally
saw an ep of the latter), not to mention the last movie and last season of
DS9, not many people will rally behind star trek anymore, and after Ep I,
not many will rally behind Star Wars as broadly either. Epic Sci Fi/Fantasy
has taken a sharp turn for the worse in recent years. The only good Sci Fi
I've seen in a while has been The Matrix, and that wasn't nearly as good as
everyone I talked to made it out to be.

It had nothing to do with the fact that they weren't discussing
linux(honestly I don't care if they aren't), but I find it very humorous
that
the people on a email list about computers are discussing star trek and star

wars. Very stereotypical.
