Jason's site had a link to the answer, thanks.
As for the meat, it's "Spiced Ham"
The answer I was looking for was at http://www.spam.com/ci/ci_in.htm
Apparently we get the term 'spam' from a Monty Python sketch in which they
drowned out all other conversation by repeating the word "spam"
Hormel isn't upset, as this is just free advertising for them.

Shoulder Pork and Meat. It's ham, for the most part, from the front shoulder
of the pig. :-)
I like SPAM (The meat). Now, SPAM burgers? That's where I draw the line.
That's like frying baloney.

I'm trying to find where the word "spam" comes from. Mom asked me last
night what it stood for, and I had always assumed it came from the fact that
email spam was about as enjoyable as cold jell-o meat.
