Here's an idea that would work for me, but not for somebody whose NIC is
already a card unless they have two slots:  just go wireless at home, and
plonk your wireless NIC in the slot when you need to be at home.  If
memory serves, that's just the difference between which interface you
choose to use under Windows (it's basically just the two NIC solution,
except that one is wireless).  As a side benefit, you might also be able
to exploit the Minneapolis cafe culture in a manifestly more geeky way...
