it does work in windows.....
I have a machine with a network card set up as a static 10.0.0.0 address
and the other is set up for dhcp. When I bring the pc to work with me
I just stick the RJ-45 in the card setup for dhcp. and vise versa.
It's not that hard to do... I'm running Windows 2k tho.
Not sure about 9X
