Hmm...and I thought the one big claim to fame for IA64 was its flawless
emulation of x86. Or something; I know there had to be *some* reason
why Intel was so focused on this project rather than just ditching it for
Alpha, buying up the charred remains of MIPS, or doing something else
worth doing.

This is where HP really got screwed; their partnership with Intel was
based on the premise that they'd get the project done faster and cheaper
and with universal acceptance due to Intel's involvement. Guess not...
