I've decided to go with a GeForce 2 Pro

My GeForce2 MX is great. Excellent price/perfomance ratio.
As for the other stuff, I recommend a Sound Blaster Live! and an Encore DVD
player with DXR3 decoder board. Both have Linux support. The DVD player with
board can be grabbed on Pricewatch for under $70, and Live! cards are not
that expensive.
