I would have been able to accept stupid half-assed metaphysics if they'd
even tried to explain Gaia, too, but they just flat-out didn't. It's
kinda like the Lifestream in Final Fantasy VII, right?

Yeah, that kinda caught me off guard -- the games haven't been about
running around collecting the elemental crystals since V, but that's
basically what the spirits were.

I thought FF7 was pretty good, but it got a lot worse when it left
Midgar.
Am I the only one who laughed when Aeris died? She was really
two-dimensional, and you could see her death coming a mile away (without
seeing the TV commercials).

I think FF8 and Xenogears may have driven me to tears of boredom...

I doubt they're going to make another, unless it absolutely cleans house
worldwide. It made $11.5 million its first weekend here, which isn't too
good for a movie that cost, what, $125 million to make?

Oh, FF11 and 12 are already confirmed I think -- 11's going to be an
online game, and 12 is supposed to be kind of a departure from the series
formula -- I think the guy who did Vagrant Story is directing it, and the
dude who did Chrono Trigger/Cross's music is rumored to be handling the
soundtrack.

Hey, at this rate that'll be, what... six months?
