Short, poor dialogue, and that whole Gaia notion that defies logic and
reason. Other than that, the graphics were excellent, the plot was
pleasantly complex, and the characters were intriguing. My main complaint
was that it seemed to be based off FF1.

If they're doing all the games, it's ok, but if they're only doing one, they
ought to do FF6 or FF7, the two with the best plots. Of course, FF7 sucks
after CD1, but oh well, the movie has an inherent fixed rate, so you don't
wind up drudging through CD 2 and 3 while still mourning the death of Aeris.
On the other hand, FF7 is the only video game that ever made me cry, so I
feel somewhat defensive about it.

If they are doing all the games, we may finally see someone top Star Trek's
sequel record for big ticket movies. I've heard rumors that there are
contracts already for FF11-FF16 (FF10 is the one that's almost out now).

Personally, I'm waiting for FF42, in hopes that Hitchhiker's Guide has an
impact on it. ;-)

I think my main complaint was it was so short. I felt kind of cheated when
it ended because the games I can play for weeks and form an odd emotional
link with my characters. The ending wasn't that bad though. Very
scenic. :)
