Right. Well, it turns out that the Columbia Barnes and Noble will open on
September 12, and their Job Fair thing runs today and tomorrow at the
Mall.

On a related note, Waldenbooks just finished a *phenomenally* good sale
last Sunday at a hole-in-the-wall location near Dillards: half-price on
deeply discounted stuff *and* buy four get one free. Many "dead"
_Foobar_Visually_ titles were there. On the other hand, the pickings in
the "regular" Waldenbooks location looked thinner than usual again; does
anybody know if they're planning to bail?

For those who don't have issues with chain bookstores, I would recommend
that you post a "suggested location for a Borders" note at the
bordersstores.com site, pointing out to them that their Waldenbooks
locations in both Columbia and Jeff City are both going to get waxed by
the competition, so they should just bite the bullet and put up a real
store, say on the east side of town or something. :-)
