Just to clarify something, the law suit factor is hardly just a parental
thing, or even just a product liability thing.  If you want to see some
really amazing stuff, just check out the "news" for any stock whose price
has gone down substantially in the last year or two; if the firm has any
cash hanging around, chances are that they're being sued by multiple
parties or classes of parties for some kind of securities law violation or
another.  Red Hat, the rare internet craze stock that is now in danger of
having positive earnings, is the poster child for shareholder lawsuits
these days.

I'm not sure what happened, but people seem to have completely lost
whatever notion they had about what "risk" is about.
