I'll actually offer a counterpoint to this.  The original ibook design was
a truly great one for a laptop from the standpoint of trying to use the
thing when it was perched on...wait for it...your *lap*.  The "old" ibook
is also, I'm convinced, much, much closer to indestructability than pretty
much any other notebook.  You could argue that the weight was a bit high,
and the original ibooks were gratuitously under-powered, of course.  But
what was wrong with the colors?  You have something *against* lime green?

ps--the new ibook is a very impressive machine, although a somewhat
different concept.  The only really annoying design feature it has is
the inability to do a side-by-side desktop with an attached monitor,
apparently because they were afraid that would help/make it cannibalize
their "real" notebook sales.
