One thing Ive noticed about the animals on campus is that they have balls.
They almost act like they own the place too. One time I saw a squirrel start
chasing a guy when I was walking past Jesse hall. No thats a messed up
sight, a grown man running from a 7 inch long rodent with a big
tail...looked like something out of a cartoon.
As for the ibooks, they are pretty cool looking, Im glad they fired the
bunch of hippies that were doing their previous icrap design. Some of those
colors would give me a headache if I looked at them too long they were so
loud. The nice thin gun-metal grey look is how a computer is suppose to be,
a weapon. :)

Subject: [MLUG - DISCUSSION] Turtles and iBooks
Does anyone know why any turle in its right mind would wander through our
campus? I came across one at Hitt St. and Rollins St. frantically running
across the street while cars went by during rush hour traffic. I stopped
my car, picked it up, drove it to a creek ONE HANDED with a manual
transmission (that takes talent with my old car), scaled rocks alongside a
creek on South Providence, and dropped it in the water.
I've seen rabbits all over campus, but I never thought I'd see a turtle
here. I didn't want to see the poor guy squished to a pulp by a car. Pet
turtles are pretty neat, but I can't have pets and that's a wild animal.
Anyway, that's what I did at 9:30 a.m. today, after spending an hour
drooling over the new iBook in Computer Spectrum. The new iBooks will run
with Yellow Dog Linux (no sound support yet) and are MacOS X ready. They
really are a killer deal at $1,500 with DVD-ROM, 128 MB RAM, 500 Mhz G3,
56K Modem, 10/100, firewire, USB, 8 MB ATI video, 12.1 inch TFT XGA,
etc. I think I'm going to get one. I'm glad Apple finally stopped making
iBooks that look like candy-coated makeup compacts :)
I know this is off-topic, but I figured someone might find it interesting
that there are turtles on campus aimlessly wandering around in our
concrete jungles.
Regards,
Neil
