On the subject of Crown Vic's, My brother had one and I had the chance to
borrow it. Made several trips to Iowa and Nebraska one summer. The car had
a 302 V8, and was getting between 31.2 and 33.8 on the highway on all those
trips. The next spring it was recalled (something to do with parking
brake), and when he got it back, hwy mileage dropped to 21. Isn't that
strange? They even cleaned the top of the engine so the VV carb and
aircleaner looked new and shiny.
Just fuel for thought.

Yeah, despite my original comments, I too like the feel of a good Lincoln or
Crown Vic (I've owned a few...) they provide a very confortable ride. But I
still have to take a practical stance when it comes to day to day driving
and
gas prices have convenced me to abandon my want of a big car.

Besides, if everyone would start considering smaller cars (not going to
argure
with you on the quality issue :-) people such as you and myself wouldn't
need to
feel the need protect ourselfs in bigger cars.
