I usda have a translation program I used that I originally invented for an
AI toy I wrote that translated hacker talk in/out of it. If you
talked(typed) like that to it then it'd respond in kind along with adding
typos and stuff. Amazing how many intelligent people will fall for stupid
tricks.
Web sites are better than ftp. Apache is usually considered far more
secure than any major ftp server and you get the extra benefit of easier
use. A lot of people argue that http is a less spammy (more
effecient) protocol than FTP which I doubt matters much on any decent
connection but being able to restart a file transfer is useful and usually
ftp doesn't like doing that. However for me I'd only allow ssh/scp access
to any files I wanted to keep secret. No bots etc are likely to find the
files by accident and the cops would almost have to hack you to prove you
have the files. I hate IRC though. Always did. :)
