I've not done this with @Home but yes most companies are completely
stupid. Especially big companies where you can talk to different people to
get around rules and such. If they shut you down no doubt they'll come
take your cable modem away. Once that is done wait a couple weeks and
someone else (or yourself using a different name) can open a new
account. Or when in doubt just move or get someone else to let you use
their home. If I get reinstated as a new user I again get the free
installation and the discount of being a new user for the six month period
or whatever it is when you sign up. This is even easier with dialup ISPs
where you can hope from one to another in 15 minutes in most areas. When I
lived in KC I could signup to a free account several times a day or when
desired to a pay account using my credit card the accounts would be
activated in under 15 minutes. That lil Computer User newspaper they have
is a great source for finding ISPs fast. :)

It works with getting discounts too. If you ever order something from a
catalog company call several times on any big items. If you get them to
note you a special price in the computer and then call back and refuse to
talk to that same person again (which allows the new agent to talk to
you) then you can almost always get the price dropped again. Claim again
that the agent was rude (or trick them into being rude) and force them to
give you to a manager and you'll get a nice price drop or even free stuff.

The wonders of abusing slow moving giants. My ex (who is a total bitch and
born liar) was even better at these things. She got jobs far above her
qualifications, discounts on cars, etc this way. Bribes are good tricks
for getting hefty discounts and stuff too. Her parents company bribes
airlines employees to stamp packages as being half their real weight when
shipping them to save on costs and tarriffs. When you're shipping a car
the savings can be huge. It allows them to beat their competitions prices
and still make money.
