I think the plan is for the MLUG members list to be restricted to postings
that are definitely about Linux. The discussion list is to allow members
to communicate with each other about other topics. For example, general
networking questions, Windows problems, hardware problems, where to buy
this or that computer hardware or tool, etc. But I don't think there is
any limit on what one might post about, but it doesn't make sense to send
things to the list that list members aren't interested in. "Meeting girls
and having parties" seemed to generate a lot of interest, so I think it
was fine. Anyone who didn't want to read it could easily have deleted
anything with 'girls' in the Subject.
