My #1 hate is the default controllers. Most of the games aren't to my
taste either although a few are notable exceptions and I'd be glad to see
Sega providing PS2 (or Linux!) games. Given the dropped price they aren't
that unreasonable but I still tend to like the PS2 much more. Actually I'm
not a religious enough player to get into any major console flamewar but I
always come away from the Dreamcast with a slightly annoyed feeling like
certain minor things just don't seem right. I liked some of Sega's older
consoles better. For $75 though a Dreamcast might be awesome to hack
on. I've been considering hacking up an old PSX to see if I can make it
portable cheaper than one of the PS1's or just for the hell of the
hack. Remember the Atari hack into a portable that was on Slashdot? I'd
really like to do that too but using my MP3 player to store ROMs rather
than carrying cartridges around. Atari's are cheaper so I'll probably get
around to that first. Not sure how best to make an Atari use my MP3
players USB port though. Then slap on a pair of iGlasses and I'd be
set. :)

Not sure that I agree with this rabid distaste for what is actually a nice piece of hardware ("can't stand" sounds like you go into convlusions or something when you find yourself in the same room as one). Perhaps you'd like to elaborate on what exactly makes it "suck"? I'm not flaming here, just curious as to your rationale given the excitement that others have shown.
